There are certain stores where I really don't like to purchase items without a coupon, and Bed, Bath, and Beyond is one of them. Recently, I signed up to have coupons texted to me, and I love it. I shared a coupon with a friend of mine because we were at the store and he wanted to purchase a duvet cover set, but didn't have his coupon with him. I had a coupon on my phone and saved him $20! If you look online, you can find options to sign up for coupons via texting.

I love reading and listening to books, and I have found a FREE way to do it! With a digital membership to the Los Angeles Public and County Libraries + the OverDrive Media Console App, I can download audiobooks and listen to them on my iPhone or read them too! I have listened to so many books while driving. It is wonderful. Check it out: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/overdrive-media-console-library/id366869252?mt=8
Just discovered a new way to #stoptosave Great free app - The Coupons App RT @TheCouponsApp: $3 buck #breakfast combos at #Subway http://www.thecouponsapp.com/go/2B1 Scanners cost a lot of money, and getting to a copy machine or scanner to scan a document or receipt can be inconvenient. I have recently downloaded a free app called Genius Scan, and it has been VERY helpful. I have scanned receipts and emailed them to myself so that I don't have to worry about losing the receipt. I have also scanned important documents that are multiple pages, and they are easily converted to a pdf form that can be emailed and annotated over when bringing up the document again in my ipad.
This is a FREE app! You have saved yourself the cost of a scanner! Brilliant! Groupon has become a staple in my life. Whenever I plan a special event, I refer to Groupon to see if there is a special activity or place to eat that I can try while saving some money. I love when Groupon also offers an additional discount for their local food and activity deals. I rarely pay full price for massages in particular because Groupon always offers numerous discounts on these treatments, and one of my favorites is at the Body Sanctuary and Spa in Westlake Village.
One of my new favorite apps and also money saving websites is Airbnb. It's a free app for the iPhone, and you can also view its website. The site showcases alternative lodging experiences when you travel. You can rent a private room, a shared room, or entire home/apt. The prices are very reasonable, and there are spots all over the world. We have rented a beautiful beach house just two blocks from the Newport Beach Pier for our family's summer vacation. I was able to correspond with the owner via email and also look at beautiful pictures of the house as I was making my decision. If you are a traveler, want to spend less money on lodging, are tired of conventional hotel rooms, or simply want to have an affordable adventure, you should check out Airbnb. https://www.airbnb.com/
Music is an important part of my life. I play it everywhere--in my home, in my classroom and office, and in my car. I think that people underestimate its power. During teacher trainings, I share with my audience that music can be used as a classroom management tool. When I want the students to settle down, I play something soft, and when I need them to be active, I play a genre that is more upbeat. In this technological age, I am very thankful to have music so freely accessible to me. I don't have to remember to bring a CD with me anymore! Pandora and Spotify are two of my favorite websites/phone apps. I know that many of my friends use these tools already, but I just led a faculty training where people had heard of Spotify but had not used it yet. They were easily converted by the end of the training. You simply create a login for Pandora or Spotify from your computer or smartphone, and you have free access to an endless database of tunes. WIth Pandora, you create a "channel" by inputting a particular genre, artist or album, and then Pandora plays randomly selected songs that are similar to the artist or genre you selected. On the other hand, with Spotify, you can create your own playlist, and intentionally select a specific album, song, or artist that you would like to listen to from anywhere that has an internet connection. Today I read that they have the Android app for Spotify for free!, so I know it's available for Android phones too. There are upgrades to both sites that you can purchase to avoid listening to ads and such, but I have been very content with the free versions. FREE music??? This is a dream come true. If you haven't stopped to save by checking these sites/apps out, STOP right now and do it! You will be whistling a happy tune in no time.

Entertainment books offer a text full of coupons with endless savings to restaurants, stores, and travel. They usually cost about $35, but late in their season (like now in July), they have been reduced to $5.99 with free shipping! You are likely to save MORE than that in just your first purchase. You may also find the app for the Entertainment Book on your smart phone. This site has saved me TONS of money! Whenever I go shopping, I check out the coupons on this site first. It also has an app and can be accessed through a smart phone if you forget to print your coupons out before you go shopping. Some of my favorite shops that offer great deals are Bath and Body Works and Michael's. The site has also divided up the coupons for online or in-store shoppers. I feel bad when I see people who don't know about this resource and are paying full price for something! Everyone should stop to save money by clicking on: http://www.retailmenot.com/
