I signed up for an Ann Taylor credit card and their emails, and it has proven worthwhile because it saves me a lot of money. I am always notified of their killer sales, like when there is 60% off their sale items. They also mail me special coupons. It's nice to pay $24 for a pair of nice dress slacks instead of $69 + tax. And, I appreciate their discounts for teachers.
