A free and beautiful hike takes you to Mount McCoy Cross in Simi Valley. You can park your car not too far from the Ronald Reagan Library and walk directly to the cross. There's a bit of a hill on the way there, but it is not a rigorous hike. You can enjoy breathtaking views of the sunset and enjoy gorgeous panoramic views of the valley.

STOP TO VISIT the Hollywood Bowl if you ever can! A bucket list item should really be to go on the 2nd or 3rd of July when they are celebrating the 4th of July. I am certain that it would be more crowded on the 4th. I recently attended their 4th of July Spectacular on the July 2nd, and it was STELLAR! The Gogo's joined forces with the L.A. Philharmonic to honor the military, share patriotic and iconic music, and put on one of the best fireworks shows I have ever seen! (Sidenote: The Gogo's DEFINITELY still got the beat!)
Outstanding Famers Market on Fridays in Downtown L.A. - enjoy delicious fruit and beautiful flowers! Super fun to sample the wide variety of fruit as well.
The Spa at the Four Seasons Hotel is stellar. PERIOD. Travel Zoo often showcases an exceptional savings for $145 which affords the buyer to a smoothie or champagne, parking for 4 hours, access to the gym and spa facilities, and a 50-minute facial or massage. RUN!! This is a real treat!
The Broad Museum in Downtown LA is FREE and FUN! It's best to reserve tickets in advance to avoid waiting in line. Check in to visit the Infinity Mirror exhibit after entering the museum. Spend the day in DTLA - eat at Grand Central Market, take Angel's Flight up to the museum, and enjoy Grand Park! These are ALL stellar stops!
Stop to visit or to stay at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles! Gorgeous views of the city from your hotel room or from the rotating bar at the top! A stellar experience!
I've grown up in the Los Angeles area and am just now discovering some of its gems. I definitely encourage people to stop and visit Spires 73 at the top of the Intercontinental Hotel in Downtown LA. You take the elevator to the 73rd floor of the hotel, and then you sip on cocktails and enjoy the breathtaking views of the city. This is definitely a stellar stop.
I have heard that they charge $25 to ride to the top on Friday and Saturday night, so it is good to keep this in mind if you are planning to do this over the weekend. Another option is going to the top of the Bonaventure hotel, which is free and has a revolving bar/lounge. (*HINT: Take the metrolink or subway system downtown and enjoy a day in the city. Your metrolink ticket allows you to use the subway system for free!) If you are visiting San Diego, treat yourself to a drive over the Coronado Bridge and park by the Hotel del Coronado while you go for a stroll along the beach. You don't have to be a guest at the hotel to walk on the beach or to purchase a beverage and enjoy the beach chairs. There is a lot of history in the hotel, so it is fun to walk through it and look at the pictures of famous actors and presidents who have visited the hotel.
My dear friend invited me to her birthday party, and it was one of the most original and fun evenings I had ever participated in for a celebration! TIFA Chocolate & Gelato closes the store and allows guests to host their own chocolate party. An employee of the store serves as the instructor for the evening and teaches the guests about how chocolate is made. Then, we all get to make our own chocolates! We made original ganaches, sprinkled the outsides of the chocolates with special dusting, and brought in our own appetizers and wines to enjoy all evening! After it was all done, the instructor also treated us to cappuccinos and other coffee drinks. What a creative way to stellabrate a birthday!
Through Facebook Marketplace, I had the pleasure of finding Kj Interiors. I visited their space in Orange County where I picked up a set of dining chairs that were refurbished. Kim has a number of beautiful pieces that are all of very high quality. She responds promptly to all messages and her furniture is reasonably priced.
