Website: http://www.umami.com/umami-burger/ 2200 E Thousand Oaks Blvd Thousand Oaks, CA 91362 (805) 413-8626 Three words: Sweet Potato Fries. That's all you need to order here. Sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and fried to a perfect crispiness. My family ordered the Truffle Burger, the Manly Burger, and the Manly Burger Poutin Style (which is over french fries that are covered in gravy instead of a bun - death by carbs I think is its nickname). I don't eat red meat, and I noticed that they had other non-red meat options, but I just opted for the sweet potato fries and was not disappointed. We also ordered an ice cream sandwich with snickerdoodle and chocolate chip cookies that wrapped salted chocolate ice cream. I thought it was a bit pricey at $7, but the ice cream was delicious. (949) 497-5434 Website: http://www.yolandasmexicancafe.com There are numerous locations of Yolanda's, and I have visited a few of them. Their Oxnard location overlooks the Channel Islands Harbor and is beautiful, and their Simi Valley location offers a nice patio courtyard where you can enjoy your margarita, chips & salsa. The service is excellent and the food is delicious. During happy hour, margaritas are less than $4, so it's easy to be happy. Website: http://www.roberts-restaurant.com Robert's Restaurant is located in Paso Robles and is in the center of town. It is a beautifully decorated restaurant with comfortable chairs and clean linens. What was most memorable to me was this summer salad. It was filled with watermelon, nuts, cheese and a tasty vinaigrette dressing. I am still thinking about how delicious it was and how I might be able to recreate the experience at home. If you happen to be in this wine country and are not sure where to dine, Robert's Restaurant is a solid option. Website: http://www.fumebistro.com 4050 Byway E Napa, CA 94558 (707) 257-1999 Fumé Bistro is located at the entry way to all the Napa wineries. I found this bistro because I stayed at the Napa Winery Inn and it included a $50 gift card to this restaurant, which is within walking distance to the inn. So, if you need a place to stay in Napa, this package is an affordable option. The food has a lot of flavor, and the wine menu is extensive. The server was very attentive and knowledgeable. I was delighted by the food, the service, and the location. http://www.versaillesrestaurant.com "The World's Most Famous Cuban Restaurant" 3555 SW 8th St, Miami, FL 33135 (305) 444-0240 Favorite: Be sure to order the Fufú con Masitas; it is full of flavor! http://www.cityhalltherestaurant.com/index.php 2004 Biscayne Blvd. Miami, FL Phone: (305) 764-3130 Special Master Martini Serrano Pepper infused Svedka Vodka, Passion Fruit Puree and Triple Sec A spicy and sweet mixture of perfection that makes you feel like you are drinking the signature drink of Miami. When I go to Roy's Hawaiian Fusion, I know that I can always count on incredible food and excellent service. I always feel special when I go to this restaurant. They pay attention to details. For example, when I have visited the restaurant for a birthday or anniversary, they have printed a special menu with my name on it. I leave the restaurant not only satisfied with a great meal but an amazing dining experience.
For first-timers, I recommend their combination meals, like their fish trio to sample a little bit of everything. They also have tasty Bento boxes with generous portions. But you MUST order the pineapple upside down cake for dessert! It's stellar! http://www.pieology.com/ There are numerous locations for this stellar stop, and I have frequented the one on 593 N. Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks. It's a genius idea! A pizza bar, where you make customized, personal pizzas. They provide the dough and all the toppings, and you tell them what you want on your pizza--kind of like the Subway of pizzas. One attractive feature to this stop is that it's only $7.50 per pizza, and each pizza is quite large for one person! Delicious and affordable--two qualities that make Pieology a stellar stop! |
